Here we go again...

After not doing as well as I had hoped at the Canyonlands Half Marathon in Moab I told my dad I was done. Not done running, but done doing these silly half marathons. I thought sure, I can run pretty well 5 maybe even 10 miles. But anything more I was done with. I was not giving it up all together. I would do short distances and such when or if I felt like it.

So I sit here today thinking to myself, "why in the heck did I talk myself into doing the Ogden Half in May?" Who knows, but I am now a paid and registered participant and not willing to let 60 bucks go to waste.

So alas, looks like I will be hitting the pavement every Saturday from now till May 17th and many days in between. I have not ran outside since the Moab race. It's gonna be a tough one! Seven weeks till the big day! Wish me luck!

Easter Festivities

{All 9 cousins}
Spring is finally here! I love winter but it seems like it was extra long and cold this year. Last Sunday was Easter. It seemed so early, but it was nice to have it feeling like Spring.

On March 15th my cousin Sonia had an Easter egg hunt for all the kids. It was so much fun! Of course the hunt was help across the street from Sonia's at the cemetery, typical Bott thing to do! The kids loved searching in vases, under trees and some just on the ground for the little ones. I was a little 'under' that day so I took Cady around, she was not so sure at what was going on or what to to so she and I just took our time. She was so much fun! Some days she doesn't like me as much as other days, but she was loving me that day! After all the eggs were found we went back to Sonia's and had a delicious lunch. It was such a fun day! Thanks Sonia!

Sunday was Easter. It was a really nice day. I love Easter for so many reasons. It is the beginning of Spring which I love, it is another excuse to get a new dress, it is time to be with family, and Easter is the reason that we can be together with our families for all eternity. I am so thankful for that in my life.

Christian Ivins' homecoming was Sunday morning. He did an amazing job and it was fun to see and visit with the Ivins family. After that we went and visited Grandpa Bott. Then I went to the homeward but only in time for Relief Society. It was a great lesson and as always it was good to see everyone there.

After church the boys and grandma and grandpa all came for dinner. We had delicious Easter dinner; honey baked ham, grandma's potato salad, corn, baked beans, rolls etc. It was so yummy! The kids are all so cute! I love them! After dinner Kristy read a story for the kids and mom's testimony for the adults. It was another great holiday. Days like that are always bittersweet. Life is not the same without mom but we try to live life as she would want us to and carry on the things that she would be doing. I am so thankful that may family is all so close and that we all still enjoy being together. It was a great Easter!

Spring is finally here! Happy first day of spring!

"We know not all that lies ahead of us. We live in a world of uncertainty. For some, there will be great accomplishment. For others, disappointment. For some, much of rejoicing and gladness, good health, and gracious living. For others, perhaps sickness and a measure of sorrow. We do not know. But one thing we do know. Like the Polar Star in the heavens, regardless of what the future holds, there stands the Redeemer of the world, the Son of God, certain and sure as the anchor of our immortal lives. He is the rock of our salvation, our strength, our comfort, the very focus of our faith."

-President Gordon B Hinckley

With conference coming up it is hard to believe that President Hinckley won't be there. I cannot honestly remember a conference without him. I found this quote today and it made me stop and think of how missed he is going to be at conference and always. What a great man. I love President Monson, he has always been one of my favorite speakers. I look forward to learning from his as the new prophet.

{I love this new picture. President Monson, President Eyring and President Uchtdorf}

{The Dress}

I have never been one to have my wedding ALL planned out. Sure I know some things that I want, like the colors, the place I would LIKE to have it, places I will NOT have it. Just little things.

My sister is helping her friend Cami plan her wedding. Last night we were driving in her car and she had a magazine from a bridal shop that she just went to with Cami. I just was flipping through it and I found a dress that I would love to have one day! I don't know what it is about it, I just loved it! I think it is the bottom, I love the gathering. I just love it all!

The picture in the magazine had a sash around it which made it look better. I for sure want a sash, an orange sash! And the girl was cuter, but you get the idea! Found it here.

I {heart} Moab

So, we made it home from Moab! The weekend over all was GREAT!

Friday we just drove down and then ate at Pasta Jay's for dinner and went to bed!
Saturday was race day! The weather was a little cloudy, but not too bad, at least it didn't rain! Me, Weston Arnell and Liz Royall went to the top together. Kristy, Kate Pridgen, Merideth Dyer and Dawnell and Trever Midgley all did the 5 mile. It was cold waiting, but we warmed up once we started. It took me longer than I hoped, but that is okay. Better luck next year.

After the race we showered, rested a bit and then hit the streets (or street!) of Moab. We ate some lunch, shopped a little and made our I {heart} Moab shirts. Then we went for a little hike/drive. It was beautiful! The mountains in the background had snow and then the red rocks in front. It was awesome! We went back to the hotel for another little rest. Then we ate at Zax Pizza with Dawnell, Trever and Liz. It was fun.

Sunday we slept in and then went up the canyon for breakfast at this darling little lodge place. It was yummy and fun. The tables were right by the river about 14 miles up the canyon. A perfect ending!

Canyonlands Half Marathon

I did it last year, so I know I CAN do it. Saturday is the Canyonlands Half Marathon in Moab. I am getting a little bit nervous actually! I don't think I was nervous last year because I didn't know what to expect, I had no idea what was coming! Now I do...and I hope I am ready! This year I want to do it in 2 hours or less. We'll see how it goes! I feel pretty well prepared. All of my long runs have been done in an 8-10 minute mile pace so if I can do that again I will be good!

It's gonna be a fun weekend! Wish me luck! Hopefully I return Monday!

I love going to concerts. I especially love the ones that a) I don't have to pay for! or b) are at a local 'members only' club so they are only $15.00-$20.00 What does 'members only' mean anyway? I have been to a few shows that are at 'members only' venues and I am not a member of a single one!

This week I went to Lifehouse which was great, and yesterday I got tickets to Secondhand Serenade in April! I am super excited about that one.

So I got to thinking about all the concerts I have been to in my life and the list is actually a pretty good length...

(in no particular order other than what came to mind)

Reba McEntire

Brooks and Dunn

Kenny Chesney*

Sarah Mclachlan

Keith Urban

Peter Breinholt*

Ryan Shupe

Dave Matthews

The Fray

Dashboard Confessional*

Colbie Caillat

Toad the Wet Sprocket

Alanis Morissette

Sheryl Crow

Vince Gill

Backstreet Boys (yes, it's true!)

Counting Crows

Nancy Hanson*

Rascal Flatts*

Dixie Chicks

That is all I can think of right now. I will add as I remember more!

{This is my friend KaDee and I at Dashboard in December}

I love concerts and can't wait for Secondhand Serenade in April and Kenny Chesney this summer!

Last night my sister and I went to the sold out Lifehouse concert at The Depot. I gave the tickets to Kristy as an early birthday present, I didn't want to miss this! Other than the fact that we stood outside in the cold for an hour because they were running late it was AWESOME!!!

They had 2 openers, a no name group called Honey Honey, they were pretty good actually. Then Matt Nathanson. He sings that song that is on the am/fm called Car Crash. He was so animated and into it that it was a great performance. He was really good!

Then it was Lifehouse! They were awesome! A few times they went off on hard core rock tangents, but they always got back to the good stuff! I have loved Lifehouse since junior high so it was so much fun to see them live! A great show!

This was my first time going to a show at The Depot and I actually really liked it. They have a few tables that you can sit at, but it is mostly standing. We stood really close to the stage. It was great. I would for sure go to The Depot again.

Step Up 2: The Streets

When rebellious street dancer Andie enrolls in the prestigious Maryland School of the Arts, she finds it difficult to fit in. Joining forces with Chase, the hottest dancer at the school, Andie finds a way to merge her old life and the new by forming a team of misfit classmates and training with them to compete in an underground dance contest known as The Streets....

I finally saw it this weekend. Kind of lame I know, but I loved it! I love the first Step Up and honestly, I was a little skeptical about the second one. It is pretty much the same story line but different, if that makes sense! This one is more hip hop dancing which was fun, and it is less 'love story' and more dance than the first one. Don't worry though, it still has the love story, and the kiss!

At first I was not sure about the main girl, Andie, but she grows on ya and she is actually a really cute girl. Chase, the main guy could never be as good looking as Tyler from the first one...or could he be? I think that he comes very close! If you disagree Tyler is in for a bit too so it makes up for it!

Of course this is no Oscar winning movie, but I love it! It is fun, clean and just a good time! I will for sure be buying this when it comes out!
