Days like today

It is days like today that I think of how important each day we have here on this earth really is.

At any moment our lives could be taken away from us. It is so important to be the best we can everyday.

Last night I received some sad news that a member of my amazing bishopric had passed away from a heart attack. I could not believe it. He was young, healthy, and such a good man I just did not believe this had happened. I feel so much sadness for his family. I know he is in a wonderful place, but it is still so hard to think of the pain and loss that his family will have in their hearts everyday for the rest of their lives.

Brother Brown and I became very good friends when he was over the committee that Sophie and I were in charge of. He was always so fun and easy to talk to. He would sneak in the kitchen to get some food (on Fast Sunday!) and stay and chat with us about everything we had on our minds. Not only was he a great friend, but he was a great man of God. I looked up to him in so many ways. I am so lucky and thankful for the time I had to know him. The 13th ward will not be the same without him. I miss him already.

My thoughts and prayers are with Brother Brown's wife and children at this time. Not a moment has gone by today that I have not thought of them. As sad and hard as this is, I know without a doubt that Brother Brown is in a better place than here on earth.

Thank you Brother Brown for being the amazing person you were.
You will be missed.

Dancing With The Stars

Don't be sad that the Olympics are now over...

"The victory lap for Olympian Misty May-Treanor will be a short one. She'll go straight from Beijing where she and Kerry Walsh won their second gold medal in beach volleyball to wear the similarly skimpy costumes required for "Dancing with the Stars."

She was one of the 13 personalities announced today for the new season of "Dancing with the Stars" and is already likely favorite, as the other two Olympic gold medalists who've competed on the ABC show were winners, Apolo Anton Ohno and Kristi Yamaguchi. Misty May-Trenor's partner will be Maksim Cherkovskiy."

I like this show, but I have never been a die hard fan. I would watch it if I was around, but I would never schedule my life to be able to watch. I might this season though! I have always wanted to be a dancer so I do like to live that dream through shows like this. I am excited!
Happy dancing!

I know, I know!

I know this is not my first post about the Olympics (and it probably won't be the last!) but here it is again.

How amazing are these athletes?

They make me want to be a little stronger, a little faster, and all together better.

Phelps is amazing, another gold last night. Almost to his 8 golds

May and Walsh. Need I say more?

And, gold and silver in women's gymnastics? Pretty awesome!

The US is now the top medal holder. Let's keep it up!

Seriously, if you have not watched any of these events you should! It is worth it. Even if it is just for a few minutes. The excitement cheering on the US is well...exciting!

Olympic Love

I really love the Olympics! I don't know why. Maybe it is because of the winter games in Salt Lake, or because of the Summer games in Athens, or the Winter games in Torino. I just love them.

Last Friday night was the Opening Ceremonies to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing China. You better believe we had a party! Beijing did an amazing job with the Opening Ceremonies. An announcer said they spent 10 times the amount of money that Athens spent! That is CRAZY! I watched all of the ceremonies but stopped after the US came out. It was getting a little long! It was fun though to watch with friends, order some Chinese food and feel the Olympic spirit!

I have enjoyed watching a few events this week. I love the swimming! I enjoy the gymnastics too. I am looking forward to August 23rd for the men's marathon. A marathon in under 2 hours? That is unreal to me! What a fun time of year!

I heart the Olympics!!!

Yogurt Stop

Have you been to the new yogurt place in Bountiful called Yogurt Stop? If not, it is definitely worth trying out!

I love it! You go in, get your cup, fill it with any kind of yogurt (they have lots) and then top it with anything you can imagine! Then, they weigh it and you pay for what you get! Genius!

I have been a few times but some of my family and I went Saturday night and had a great time and a yummy treat. The best part is it is all non-fat or low-fat yogurt so you can't really go wrong!

Try it out!

Martina McBride

We went to the Martina McBride concert last Friday night. I gave tickets to my dad for Father's Day. The concert was actually really good. She is an amazing live performer. It was a fun night! I always love concerts at USANA. There was a wide variety of people there...more to come on that later!

That's right, tonight at midnight I will get this book. I am not totally obsessed like some people, but hey, it's Friday night, it won't hurt to stay up late and go to Barnes and Noble to get this tonight.

I can't wait to find out what happens in the end!
