Sweet Serendipity

A few weeks ago Ryann and I had a Serendipity night. We made Frozen Hot Chocolate and watched the movie. I had not watched the movie in a way long time, but it was so much fun to see how they sit at the same table Ryann and I sat at in New York, we really lucked out! I love that show, I love that place, I love New York!
I bought a recipe book when we were there that has all of their specialty sweets and drinks in it. Yum! I am so glad I bought it! Our Frozen Hot Chocolate tasted almost exactly like the real stuff!
Let me know if you want to try it, I will be happy yo make it again anytime!

Deseret News 10K

I ran the Deseret News 10K on the 24th of July. It was a fun race. I went with Liz Royall at 5:00am (I still do not love the early-ness of races!) to Salt Lake where we met Sarah Reeder. We headed to the start line and waited for a few minutes. Then it was on! It took me an hour and three minutes to finish. I just wasn't feeling 'on' that day, oh well.

After the race we went and had some yummy breakfast at Paradise Bakery and then were home by 9:00am.

Overall the race was fun! It is always a great experience to do races. I don't know what it is that would make someone want to do this, but once you have done it you just want to do it again!

Down in Sugarland...

Just picked up this beauty. I can't wait to listen to the whole thing. So far my favorite is the cover they do of Matt Nathanson's 'Come on Get Higher.' I LOVE it! I am sure I will love more once I hear them.

Happy listening!

Bott Girl Party!

On Saturday July 12th my cousin Vicki started an awesome new tradition in my family. Bott Girl Party! It was so much fun to get together with all the beautiful Bott girls to eat a yummy lunch Vicki made, talk, laugh, cry and have a little gift exchange.

I am so blessed to have all of these amazing women in my life to look up to and learn from. This day made us all miss mom and Jan very much, but I am glad we have each other to care for and love.

Thank you Vicki for starting this and for hosting it and for the delicious lunch! Thanks everyone for coming and making this a fun new tradition! I love you all. See you in January at the winter party!

Ralphie

My sweet grandpa Bott passed away on Saturday night.
He was one amazing man. He lived a long full life, he would have turned 89 this September. I am so blessed to have had him in my life. I have so many fond memories of him. I love him and will miss him dearly but I am so happy and thankful to know that he is with his sweetheart again dancing to Blue Spanish Eyes. I know that he is in a better place, one with his true love Ruth, and my sweet mommy. What a reunion!

Thank you grandpa for all you did for this family! I love you!

Ralph M Bott 1919 ~ 2008 BOUNTIFUL- Ralph M Bott, 88, passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by family and loved ones, on Saturday, July 5, 2008. Ralph was born September 19, 1919 in Brigham City, Utah. His parents were Joseph Jensen and Florence Wright Bott. He graduated from Pocatello High School, and then enlisted in the United States Army, to serve his country during World War II. He was stationed for 39 months in the remote Dutch Harbor base in Alaska, and was involved in the conflicts known as the "Bloody Aleutians". Ralph was married to his eternal companion, Ruth Leone Poole, during the war on September 10, 1942. They were later sealed together in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 17, 1944. Ruth was Ralph's loving and devoted sweetheart for 53 years and then she passed away in December of 1995. Ralph later married Winifred Jensen Davidson, for time in the Bountiful Temple, April 14, 1999. She has spent nine years with Ralph as his devoted companion, caring lovingly for him during his recent illness. Wini survives him and cherishes the time they had together. Ralph was a great father, grandfather, husband and friend, who cared deeply for everyone that he knew. A more generous man is hard to find, and that was the example he was to his family and friends. As a father, he loved to hunt and fish with his boys, and spend time with his family at their Star Valley cabin in Wyoming. He was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served with dedication in many callings during his lifetime. He established The Bountiful Memorial Art Company in 1952, where all of his sons worked closely with him, and learned from him. Ralph is survived by his four sons, Dennis (Martha), Robert, David, and Roger (Diane); 22 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Wanda Cottam. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, his beloved wife, Ruth and two special daughters-in-law, Jan and Kris. A special thanks goes to those who provided Ralph with hospice care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Bountiful 11th Ward Chapel, 115 Wicker Lane, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Wed. morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Mr. and Mrs. Buie

One of my very best friends got married last week. Sophie Bailey married Isaac Buie July 3, 2008 in the Manti Temple.

We went down to Ephraim Wednesday afternoon. We ate dinner at the Malt Shop, went bowling and just had a fun time.

Thursday was the wedding! Nicole and I helped Soph get all ready and then her and Isaac went and took some pictures around the temple. She looked amazing! After the pictures they went to the temple. After the ceremony we did pictures at the temple and then went and did pictures at the Malt Shop. We had a quick pistachio shake and then headed back to Salt Lake.

I dropped Sophie off at Isaac's house, then I went home fast, changed, and headed back out to Salt Lake to the Lion House for the wedding dinner. It was lovely!

I am so glad that Soph and I are friends! I am happy that I got to share this special day with her and Isaac and their wonderful families! They are so happy and in love! I am so happy for them and wish them the best of luck in their eternal marriage!

I love you guys!

Goodbye June

I feel like June was a BUSY month for me. I feel like all of my summer activities and festivities were jam packed into June. (Probably because they were!) Between:

T-ball games
Baby showers
Park City Outlet shopping
Birthdays
A hair appointment
A mission (not mine, a friend)
Concerts
Ward activity to Zion
Father's Day
BBQ's
A dentist appointment
Enrichment
Finishing Italy scrapbooks
Making strawberry jam
Wedding luncheons
Wedding receptions
Ward activities
Home teachers
Family Reunion

I am a little bit glad this busy month is over! It is going to be a bit rough getting back into the real world and actually working five days a week, full time is not my thing so working three or four days a week this past month has been wonderful! But it will be nice to have some down time. Last night I had Soph's shower and that ended the busy month. Her wedding is Thursday but after that I am open for more summer adventures. (Just maybe not all at once!)
