This is maybe my favorite song right now.

Quarter of a century.

I didn't really have a hard time with twenty five.
Twenty four was worse.

My birthday was a few weeks ago but I was waiting on getting some pictures from people so here it is.
{four weeks later}

My actual day of birth was spent mostly at school.
It was the last day of Wednesday classes so I HAD to go!

Other events of the day included

The gym.
Lunch with Kristy who was home sick.
A job interview.
Lots of birthday texts.
Phone calls.
Facebook messages.
And more...

Luckily I got out of class early that night.
But since it was possible to be in class till eight I made no plans.

I ended up watching my favorite movie
with two of my favorite people!
{Matt still talks about how much he loved Serendipity!}

Not a super exciting birthday but what can you expect on a Wednesday?

The celebrating continued, or started I guess Friday night.
A bunch of people went to dinner at Settabellos.

It was an eventful night.

Thanks KaDee for planning it!

Then Saturday a friend and I had a Silver Anniversary party.
He turned 25 on the first so we shared this quarter of a century experience!
I was a little bit busy with school so I was not fully into the planning of the party, but Jonathan did a great job!

It was total silver anniversary style party.

We even had a serious bingo tournament.
With a twenty five dollar prize.
In quarters.

Makes sense, right?!

The celebrating continued Sunday with a family dinner.

Thanks so much to Kristy and Ben for all you did!

Overall it was a great birthday!
Thanks to everyone for making it that way!
Someone said to me that week that they never knew birthdays lasted all week.
Well, I think they should!

come and gone

It's funny how long you look forward to something and then in one short day it is all over.

Christmas has not been the same around here for the past five years. It's always hard not having mom, but especially rough at Christmas time.

Christmas this year was full of food, laughing, gifts and more. But now it has come and gone again until next year.

Here are some pictures from the day.

Hope everyone had a fun day filled with those you love!
I know I did.

come and trim my Christmas tree

with some decorations bought at Tiffany....

Somehow the Christmas after mom died dad started a new tradition...
Giving Kristy and I jewelery every year for Christmas.
I had always wanted real pearls.
My grandmas did not have any to give me.
And my mom did not have any.
That is why dad got us a set the year after mom died.
I love them.
A lot.
This tradition continued three years after the pearl year.
Kristy and I were not sure what would happen this year.
Now I am the only one home things are different.
When I woke up Christmas morning and saw a little blue box sitting on the couch I must admit I was a little bit excited!
The best part was the red Christmas ribbon instead of white.
So cute!
It was beautiful!
Thanks dad!
I love it, and I love you!
{don't worry, Kristy got one too}

zoo lights

I have wanted to go to the Zoo Lights ever since they started a few years ago but never had. This year I was bound and determined to go. Last Saturday after the Tolman party we got a group together and went. It was so much fun! I felt like a little kid. I was running around checking it all out and loving it! I love doing things that just put a smile on your face. I think this is going to be a new tradition for me.

The lights cost six dollars. I know, kinda pricey compared to the free-ness of Temple Square, but totally worth it. Just not worth the extra three for the 3D glasses! Out of eight of us only one fell into that trap...

Liz, me and Mandy in the butterfly exhibit. No real butterflies but lots of light butterflies.

The lights are all really cool. They don't just stay on, for example, this peacocks feathers would come and go. Sort of like a real animal.

I have two favorites at the zoo, penguins and giraffes. My favorite part of the zoo lights would definitely be the same! Sadly none of the penguin light pictures turned out too well.

Liz and I found our Halloween costumes for next year...

So what if I acted like a twelve year old girl at the Zoo Lights?! I love it! Something you should for sure check out. It was fun to actually have something to do during these winter months other than sit inside and watch a movie. Thanks everyone for humoring me and coming along!

Tolman Party

It's always a good time when the Tolman family all get together. This year the Christmas party was hosted by Mike and Darla in West Valley. Thank you for all the hard work! It was great! We ate, played games, had the Nativity, chatted, told stories, reminisced, exchanged gifts, laughed and just had a good time.

One of my favorite parts, holding Lawson. Especially in that sweater.

Me . Grandma . Kristy

Ben took about 50 pics of us. Notice the one I actually used is a self portrait...

The Angels

The Shepherd

The Lamb

The Innkeeper

Me and another shepherd

Ammon and his yearly costume

The Cast
Every year we do this.
Since we were the cast.
And every year it is a riot.
I think you can tell by this picture how well it goes...
It is a fun tradition none the less!

Sub for Santa

My ward does a Sub for Santa with the money we make at the Thanksgiving Auction. December 14th we shopped and then this past Monday we delivered the gifts down to people in Provo and Orem. After the deliveries we all met at Cafe Rio in Provo and had dinner. It was a lot of fun. I love to do service. I need to do it more. It really makes me thankful for what I have. I am so blessed.

joseph smith

Sunday was the last Relief Society lesson from the two year Joseph Smith manual. I was a little sad to see it end. When I think about how incredible this man was my heart aches for all the trials and tribulation he endured.

I am thankful for the knowledge he brought back to the earth. I am thankful for the past two years I have had to learn about him.

Next year it is back top the basics. I look forward to the new manual and re-learning the fundamentals.
