hope

I hope the air clears up soon because I am not sure how many more miles I can do on a treadmill. Six today made me want to scream. There is no way I could do eleven!

Where Women Create

I have this book called Where Women Create.

I love it!
I have looked through it cover to cover hundreds of time.
I always find something new.
Something I love.
Some type of new inspiration.
I really love it a lot.

Today I stopped by one of my favorite little stores,
and Brenda told me about this beauty...
Where Women Create Magazine.
I am so excited to look through it's pages and see more things to inspire me to create. This is going to be a quarterly magazine and I tried to find out how to get a subscription but I could not find anything. Somehow I am sure I will end up with each issue.

Here I belong...

There is a song by Peter Breinholt that is called Heartland. In it he says, "Here I belong, in this Heartland..." After working at Heartland Paper Company for four years I quit and had to move on. (I had to get a full time job to pay off my Italy debts!) Now, after a year and a half of not being there, the opportunity arose for me to go back. Yesterday was my first day back. It all came back, like riding a bike. I love it there. I love the creativeness that it brings to me, thoughts and ideas run through my head constantly, I can't even sleep at night. I love meeting and seeing different people all day. I love to see what other people create. I realized after working a year and a half at an office job that that is not for me. I get bored way too fast! So, if you ever want help with any projects or ides, I will be at Heartland Mondays and some Fridays. Come by! I would love to see you!

Here I belong!

{happy new year}

A little late but I am still catching up!

We usually go to my cabin for New Year's Eve. I like that because that way I don't have to find something to do. Especially since there is never anything fun to do! This year though was actually really fun.

First a bunch of people went to the U of U vs. Gonzaga basketball game. It was a super fun game that came down to the last seconds and Utah pulled it off 65-64! Amazing!

After the game we went to Iggy's for some yummy dinner. I was totally stuffed after, but they have some delicious burgers!

Then it was on to the festivities of the night. The institute was having a party so we went and checked it out. It was okay. The best part was my friends doing 'Rock Band'. My friend Brett can sure put on a show! We tried to leave once, but there was something about the thrill of seeing the handmade mormon ball drop at midnight that kept us there. Or made us go back at least!

Overall it was a fun night!

Happy New Year!
Here's to 2009!

change

I changed my email address today.
It is now...

jessica.bott@hotmail.com

seven pounds

'The emotional story of a man who will change the lives of seven strangers.'

I can't say why or how.
All I can say is this is one to see.
It is from the same director as Pursuit of Happyness,
which I loved.

I had no idea what this movie was like or about.
I think that is how it is supposed to be.
It is one that makes you think.
A lot.

One you will think about after too.
A lot.

and everyday our skin gets a little more brown...

{warning: extremely long post}

I was just sitting here trying to get some long awaited cruise pictures on here. The only problem is that there is 2,105 pictures to choose from! What's a girl to do? I will just put some of my favorite highlights of the week on, and for more pictures and details, and to see a hilarious video you can check out Kristy or Jennifer. If you want to see even more, let me know and you can come over sometime! I am always happy to share!

December twelfth.
We left Salt Lake City around midnight and headed to Florida.

December thirteenth.
Board Ship.
We got to Florida and boarded the ship. Went to our rooms, then of course headed to lunch. After lunch we waled around the ship. It was seriously so beautiful! It was a brand new ship, The Ruby Princess. This was only the 7th week it had gone out. It really blew me away. It was designed perfectly. It was even Italian themed which made me love it even more! Then it was off to the hot tub and pool. Then we rested up, got ready and went to dinner. Our head waiter Dimitar was one of the best parts of the cruise! All the waiters loved our table. We got a little rowdy some nights, but it was some of the funnest times! It was so nice to always be there, all 9 of us together. After dinner we went to the show and then headed off to bed for some much needed sleep.

{At dinner the first night}

{Everything was decorated for Christmas. It was beautiful.}

December fourteenth.
At sea.
We slept in and just lounged around the ship all day. It was so nice to just relax. We ate a lot, laid out a bunch, went to see 'Mama Mia' in the Princess Theater, hot tubed, swam etc. Then we got ready for the first formal night. It's always fun to dress up! We went and got pictures taken and then went to dinner. They sang Happy Birthday to me. Our room also had balloons up the whole week. They sure know how to treat their customers at Princess. After dinner we went to the show. Then we went to Club Fusion to do some karaoke but it was sign up only so we just hung out there for a bit. That is where I met my old drunk boyfriend Tim. Too bad he didn't remember me the next day! The best part about Tim is that he really believed when we told him Jason was my dad!

{Me and dad by my birthday balloons}

{Free drinks from the captain. Virgin of course}

{Me and creepy drunk Tim}

December fifteenth.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Jamaica is one of my favorite places on earth! I loved it. Not everyone did, but something about it got me. It's a little bit dirty and scary, but the people were amazing (to me) and the vegetation made it so beautiful. I really loved it! We went and hiked the Dunn's River Falls which was amazing. The locals that took us up were so much fun. It rained a little but it didn't matter because we were in the water. Our bus driver Hampshire called the rain 'liquid sunshine' and I loved it. We did a little shopping, ate lunch at Mama Marley's and waled around a bit. Then it was time to get back on the ship. I went for a run. That is one of the coolest things I have ever done. Running out on the deck like that took my breath away. It was so beautiful. After that we got ready and went and watched a U2 and then Josh Groban concert on the outdoor theater. Then we went to dinner. Good times as usual.

{We were pretty excited about Margaritaville. We found out every island had one!}

{I love Jamaicans.}

{Dunn's River Falls}

{Our awesome tour guides}

{All of us at the top.}

{Loved them too.}

{Me and out bus driver Hampshire. We called him Hammy. Loved him too!}

{Me and Kristy at U2 under the stars}

{REALLY loved these guys! Prasad, me and Dimitar}

December sixteenth.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
We mostly just shopped a little and then found this great beach to lay out all day. It was way nice. I love it. Minus the fact that there was a topless lady there, lots of wind, and maybe a few skinny dippers... After the beach we just got ready and went to dinner. Then we went to watch 'The Dark Knight' but I was too tried and only made it through half.

{That is not our ship in the background}

{Margaritaville number two}

{Me and dad on our way to dinner.}

December seventeenth.
Cozumel, Mexico.
Kristy and I woke up early to go swim with the dolphins. Some say this is a waste of money. I have wanted to do it my entire life. It has been on my list of lifelong goals. I say it was worth every penny! I LOVED it! How often do you get to kiss, ride, high five and swim with a dolphin? It was amazing! After that we met everyone else, shopped a bit, walked around and then headed to Paradise Beach. We ate lunch there and had some yummy drinks. Then we laid out for a bit. I did not love this beach, but it was fun. The we headed back to the ship. I hot tubed for a bit and then just laid by the pool. Then I ran into Ammon so we got some pizza and ate by the pool. The we went to get ready and headed to dinner. We were all tired and a little bit sea sick so we were not much fun at dinner. The waiters all kept coming over asking if we were okay. It was funny! We walked around for a bit and then went to bed.

{Fulfilling the dream}

{SO worth it!}

{Me and Kristy after the dolphin swim}

{Sombrero men}

{Christmas tree in Mexico?}

{All of us at Paradise Beach}

{Headed to dinner}

December eighteenth.
At sea.
They had 'On Deck for the Cure' race so we all did that this morning. That was pretty cool to be able to do it all together. Dad never does the Race for the Cure so it was neat to have him there. It was also at 8:00 am so it was awesome that everyone actually came. After the race Kristy and I went to a cooking demonstration that the head chef did. It was awesome! We got to walk through the kitchen and everything! We bought his book and he signed them and took pictures with us. Way neat! Then I took a nap. It was nice! We then went to the Wheelhouse Bar for an English Pub lunch. We ate yummy fish and chips. We swam, laid out and hung around for awhile before we went back to get ready for the second formal night. We went and got pictures and then went to dinner. After dinner we went to Club Fusion and did some karaoke. It was hilarious!

{On Deck for the Cure}

{Cooking show. They are both Italian.}

{Pub Lunch}

{All dressed up.}

{Such awesome waiters. They seriously made the trip!}

{Girls just wanna have fun!}

December nineteenth.
Princess Cays, Bahamas.
Great relaxing last day. We went to Princess private island in the Bahamas, Princess Cays. It was beautiful with nothing to do but catch some sun. There were a few little vendors but mostly it was just a beach. It was super nice to be able to lay out and do nothing for one last day. The weather was perfectly hot and we got some good color. Then it was off to our last dinner on board the Ruby Princess. It was kind of sad. I hate it when things are over! After dinner we went and listened to a piano man, then went to see the kareoke finals. Then it was off to bed for an early morning.

{Princess Cays}

{Shopping at the Cays}

{Our last dinner}

{The Da Vinci. Our restraunt}

So overall, we had a BLAST! It was so much fun. Ilove traveling and it was well over due that I had a good change of scenery. We saw some awesome places, met some great people and bonded as a famliy in the process. It was great!

Thanks dad!
