Moab Half

I always wonder why I sign up to do these things.
But every time I pull into Moab I remember why!

I love it down there!

This year I went to do the Moab Canyonlands Half Marathon with Liz Royall and her Brother Matt. It was so much fun! We did all the usual Moab festivities...

A {very} little hiking
Dinner the night before at Pasta Jay's
The race of course!
Lunch at the Brewery
Iron on t-shirts
Dinner at Zak's Pizza
Watched a couple movies
Breakfast at Jailhouse Cafe

We had a way fun time!

Thanks Liz and family for letting me bum along with you all!
It was a blast!!!

Until next year Moab!

Spring is in the air!
Pulled out the spring bags.
I love that fresh sight!
I went and sat outside between classes for a while today.
We saw little blooming flowers.
Yellow pansies.
So pretty!
I am way excited!
Spring is the best!

catch up

I realized last night while going through some pictures that I am a little behind on things I wanted to post. So I am going to play the catch up game right now and get all caught up!

School has been crazy busy so when I do things I do not have time to post them on here. School ends in 3 weeks so I will have lots of blogging time in the future.
I went to the Draper Temple Open house with Jason and Meridith and Meridith's family. That place totally blew me away! It was so beautiful! I loved everything about it. The detail, the color, the sparkle. It was beautiful. I am way glad I got to go!

I got my tax return. Yep. Two whole dollars. So lame! I requested a check just cause that was more fun than having two dollars directly deposited!

Some friends and I went to the Jazz game. I had not been to a Jazz game in years! It was fun! We went and got some dinner at Jason's Deli and then went to the game. We had horrible seats, but it was fun just to be there!

New Nordstrom opened March 6th and you better believe I was there! Unfortunately I had to work all day so I didn't make it until that night. It is awesome! It's just like being in New York! I loved it! Ryann and I went to check it out and to dinner. It was fun! Ryann is getting married in June so we also picked out some new outfits for her to wear in her engagement pictures. Hitting the mall and dinner with Ryann is always fun!!
One of my very best friends is having a baby! Danelle and Alex will be having a baby boy pretty much any day now so that called for a baby shower! Another excuse to make cupcakes I guess! The shower was fun!

On the Cruise one of our favorite things to eat was the Belgian waffles with ice cream on top. For Kristy's birthday she usually requests crepes and ice cream but since we learned this new little trick we gave it a try this year. All I have to say is they were to dine! This might be a new tradition!

Well, there you have it. All caught up. The main points anyway! I have a lot of fun things coming up in the next few weeks so there will be lots to talk about. Like Moab, New York, finishing the semester of school just to name a few!

Fire Alarm Sunday

{Erin, Me, Kadee, Analyse, Kathryn, Kyle and Matt}

Today church was cut short due to the Linger Longer Committee cooking too much bacon.
Who knew bacon smoke could fill the whole Institute building?!
The fire alarm went off half way through Relief Society.
All the singles wards had to evacuate.
I thought it was funny.
The firetrucks came.
The stake President did not think it was funny.
We got a picture with the fire truck behind us.
For posterity ya know?!
Good times!

A Mini Birthday

Yesterday was my sisters birthday!
Happy birthday Kristy!

Unfortunately she had to have surgery on her bunion.
Not a very fun birthday.

Since I have Wednesdays off and she is off track we celebrated that day.
We went to Mini's - a delicious cupcake place.
It's true, we are obsessed with cupcakes.

A friend of mine told me about Minis a few months ago but I sort of forgot about it.
Then my aunt Diane reminded me of this little joy so we went to check it out.
It really is a cute place. With very pretty cupcakes.
Honestly though, I can make better cupcakes!

It was fun though!

Happy Birthday Kristy!!!
Thanks for being my sister!
I love you!

Does making chocolate dipped strawberries count as doing homework?
When you are doing a retail design project and your retail store is an upscale chocolate store I guess it kind of does.
Just one of the reasons I chose interior design!

it's sick

I have a problem.
I love to travel.

Kadee and I have always talked about going to Scotland when she was done with school. She finished in December. Unfortunately I am now in school. So we decided to go to Scotland when I finish. August 2010 is the plan. I am so excited. I had no plans to go anywhere until then. I really need to finish school and be a responsible adult.

Well, I got a really great deal the other day on a Jet Blue flight. Knowing me, I could not, and did not pass it up. So on March 26th Kadee and I are heading to the one and only...New York City! Totally spur of the moment, but totally excited! It is just what I need to make it through the next year of school and no traveling!

I have a lifelong goal of visiting New York in every month of the year. I know this will get hard as it gets fewer and fewer, but for now I have been able to keep it up! This will be my fifth time and my fifth month. I love it.

Each time I have gone to New York I love it. It's sick really. I need to not love it as much as I do. Each time I have gone with different people which is fun for me. Each time I have made memories that will last a lifetime. Memories I would not trade for the world.

{December 2004}
Maybe the most memorable trip. Me, Kristy and my mom went with the Groberg girls. This was my first time to New York, my first time seeing Wicked, and my first time traveling with just my sister and my mom. My first time falling in love with that city. This was also just nine months before my mom passed away. It was meant to be that this trip happened. We needed it. And I will never forget it.
{May 2006}

Kristy and I went with Niesha and Cami Wilkinson. Such a good time! We had a lot of laughs, ate a lot of food, saw a lot of amazing things, and made a lot of good memories. This was the first time I saw the naked cowboy with my own eyes. Fortunately it has so far been the only time! Kristy and I went to the Wicked back stage production and that was so neat! Good times!

{October 2007}

Grandpa and Grandma Tolman took their kids on a cruise back East and Kristy and I got to tag along with dad. It was so much fun to finally get dad to New York. He actually liked it and said he wouldn't mind going back for longer. I am sure he never will but we can hope right?! We just spent one day there. Saw Wicked (my second time) which was a good experience to share it with dad. Mom loved it so much it meant a lot to finally have dad see it. Then we left on the cruise the next day. Short and sweet, but fun none the less.

{April 2008}

Girl's trip with Ryann! What a fun time we had! We did everything two young single girls should do while in New York. We got pedicures, took a carriage ride around Central Park, went to Magnolia Bakery, ate at Serendipity, met some boys, saw Little Mermaid and had the time of our lives! Andy Warhol once said, "One of my favorite smells is New York in the springtime". It is so true! I still smell that smell sometimes. We had so much fun! It was so fun to spend the weekend with Ryann! We had a blast!

I am excited to add {March 2009} to that list. Kadee and I are going to have so much fun! I know I should not be doing this. I don't have a lot of money and I have not yet finished school. Really though, it is worth it! I am so excited to go!

Don't worry, I am not missing one day of school or work. I feel like that is being pretty responsible! I know, it's sick.

Sick, but totally worth every dime!
