{glitter} toes

Friday night consisted of all things girly!
It was a fun relaxing evening.

First me, Kristy and KaDee went to Lauren Ford's house to get glitter toes done. I picked my color quick, sea foam green. Kristy had to see what everyone else did first before she could decide. She ended up with pink and KaDee ended up with a hotter pink. In the end we were all very happy with our fun glitter toes! I cannot stop looking at them! Thanks Lauren! I am excited for next time.

Then KaDee and I headed to the Gateway for dinner and a movie. We ate at CPK and I had one of my favorites, pear and gorgonzola. It's different, but I love it. I like to try new and different things there, but that night I just stuck with on of the favorites!

Rebecca met up with us and then we were off to see My Sister's Keeper. All I can say is that movies like this should not be allowed to be made! It was a really good movie, but make sure you take a whole box of tissues. Seriously. It breaks your heart. I really did like it though.

We had a fun night!

nineteen

Nineteen years ago my mom's side of the family started a tradition.

Tolman Family Reunion in Star Valley Wyoming.

I cannot believe it has been nineteen years! Time flies! We have had some good times as a family! It is not the same without mom there that's for sure, but it is still fun to be with everyone. I love hanging out with Kathy, my mom's twin sister. Seeing and talking with her always brings back vivid images of my mom. Her voice, her teeth, NOT her hair...I love it!

This year was not quite what I was expecting. I had school Wednesday and Thursday so I went up with Jason Thursday afternoon after he battled the swine flu.

This year the trip consisted of the following...

hot dogs at the park due to rain
a great right left game
chatting
eating
rain
a run through the beautiful country
noisy kids waking up early
swimming a little bit
no tan due to cloudy weather
games at the park
pizza
painting birdhouses
balloon sling shot
candy cannon
rain
sea foam green cowgirl boots
checking out the new property
checking out every cabin we passed
taking pictures of the above mentioned cabins
giant hamburgers in Alpine
mountain man days rendezvous
Jackson Hole
shopping
rain
visiting at the Cabin Creek Inn
leaving at seven Sunday morning to make it home for church
(we were getting a new bishopric, had to be there)

pesca

Sophie went to Italy.
Without me.
I guess it's okay...
She went with her husband instead.

She brought this back for me.
It just screams Italy.

The look.
The smell.
The handwriting on it...

I love it.
It might just sit on my desk.
Forever.

how many?

How many dads let you drive their truck in the rain just because you washed your car the day before?
How many dads give you 20 bucks every now and again just because?

How many dads take the entire family on vacations. A lot. Just for good times and memories to last a lifetime?

How many dads buy you a dress for your friend's wedding because he knows you want a new dress but have no money to buy one?

How many dads ask every guy they know if they know anyone they can set you up with? Even though deep down he doesn't want you to get married and move away?

How many dads let you drive to Bryce Canyon even though he knows he will worry all weekend just like when you were sixteen?

How many dads fill up your gas tank randomly, and always right when you need it?

How many dads would do anything in the whole world for his kids?
How many dads have lost their wife but stayed so strong and true for his family?
How many dads are exactly what a girl wants their husband to be?
How many times could I thank my dad for everything he has done for me? And yet, there is only one day a year to honor him?
Thanks dad for all that you have given and done and shown me. I will forever be in your debt. There are so many things that I would not have or been able to do without your love and support.
I love you SO much!
Happy Father's Day!

the campfire of love

I spent the weekend at Bryce Canyon for my ward Super Activity. It was super! I will admit I was a little bit skeptical because last years was SO much fun that I was worried this year would not be the same. Well, it was not the same. At all. But it was just as fun!

We left Thursday around four. Me, KaDee, Annalyse and Kathryn rode down together in my car. We had some good talks, listened to some good tunes and made it down there safely. We were the first ones there so the boys that had been down there all day holding down the fort were more than happy to help us set up our tent. That night was not really planned because people were arriving till around two in the morning so we just sat around the campfire and played games, talked, welcomed everyone as they got there and tried to keep it quiet.

The next day was Friday. We just got up had breakfast and hung out for a bit. Then they had some fun games planned and just time to do whatever. Then we had lunch and headed out on the big hike. We went in three groups which was kind of nice since there was around 85 people. The hike was lots of fun. I had never been to Bryce but I love it. It is a good combination of Moab and Jackson Hole. You get the awesome red rocks but you still have pine trees. It amazes me what beautiful things we have right here in Utah.

After the hike we helped Annalyse get dinner ready. Her committee was in charge and trust me, being the linger longer co chairs you don't have much of a committee! It was fun to help though. We ate and then went to the amphitheater to do a little get to know you game that was actually super funny! Then Brother Wilding and Bishop spoke to us. Brother Jensen was stuck in Tokyo and didn't make it. I was sad. We also were missing Brother Brown this weekend. I love all those guys! They have all influenced my life in so many ways. It was fun to hang out with them this weekend since they are being released Sunday. After that we went back to camp and had another campfire. I love campfires. A little while later a bunch of us went to look at the stars. Unfortunately it was pretty overcast so the stars were a little bit dim. It was a fun filled day!

Saturday we got up at five to go watch the sunrise. It was beautiful! I don't think I have ever really done that. It was really pretty. Then we went and packed up and had some breakfast and headed home. We stopped in Provo for some lunch and then made it home safely.

Overall it was a super Super Activity! Neal and Sierra did an amazing job! It was fun to be there with everyone and make new friends. These trips are some of my favorite memories of the ward. Spending time together getting to know everyone. I love it!

Here are some pics of the fun...

my new favorite thing. ever.

I spent this past weekend camping with my ward down in Bryce.
It was a blast!
{more on that later}

My friend Annalyse had the best thing I have ever seen...
I hate being with a group of people and trying to take pictures because someone always has to take the picture and they miss out on being in the picture. Not anymore my friends. This is a bendable tri-pod that can stand up, wrap around tree branches or just be a little extra leverage for a self portrait shot.
I was in love with it all weekend. I carried it with me everywhere. We used it a ton.
Needless to say, I ordered one here right when I got home.
Pretty much amazing.
