no computer

Our home computer is having problems.
I have lots of pictures from the weekend.
Luckily this one I had on my email
so I can post it at school.

This was the Secondhand Serenade concert Saturday.
Amazing!
I loved it!
I will post more details about it later.
{as soon as Ben fixes the computer!}

Until then the posting may be infrequent.

Kenny Chesney Concert

Last night was the Kenny Chesney concert.
Sugarland was supposed to be there too.
Jennifer was sick so they were not.
I was mad.

The concert was at Rio Tinto Stadium.
Sounds cool right?
It was not.
I would be fine to never go to another concert there.
Ever.
I think the problem is that it started at 5:30.
WAY too hot!

We hung out during the openers not in our seats.
We prefered the shade.

Once Kenny got on the stage it was actually a lot of fun!
The sun going down by then was a plus too.
Kenny is an incredible performer.
I have seen him before
but not for a couple of years.

The encore was the best.
He did a bunch of cover songs.
He did U2's With or Without You.
My favorite of the night.
Other than when he sang Me and You.
He also wore a U of U hat during the encore.
Pretty sick as Jason would say!
{sick as in cool}

Overall it was a fun night!
It was fun to hang out with the girls.

Here are some pics of the night...

red, white, and blueberry

Happy 24th of July weekend!
I made some red, white and blueberry cookies today to celebrate.
I don't care for the 24th festivities too much
so I baked instead.
It is just to hot to enjoy all the things outside.
Parades, carnivals, fireworks....

So my weekend will consist of the following...

Kenny Chesney concert tonight
Running 10 miles tomorrow morning
{Or less, depending on how I feel!}
Shopping the Nordstrom sale
{I have not had time or money to go yet}
Maybe the Bee's game
Secondhand Serenade concert Saturday
Maybe a BBQ or two
Some cleaning
Cooking
Dad's birthday dinner Sunday

and anything else to celebrate Pioneer Day!

Have a great weekend!!!

i love to see the temple

The Bountiful Temple is closed for two weeks.
I went to the Salt Lake Temple yesterday.
I forget how beautiful that place is.
Although sometimes I feel out of place there
{and maybe get a little lost}
because I only go there when Bountiful is closed.
I still love it.

then all at once the crowd begins to sing

Saturday night was The Fray concert.
Amazing.
One of the best concerts.
Ever.
That Isaac can sing.
And put on a show.
He gets so into it you can't help but be into it too.
Jack's Mannequin opened.
That Andrew can sing too!
I have loved him since Something Corporate.
He really knows how to rock the piano too.
Amazing.

Change

I recently went through a ward activity sabbatical.

Pretty much since Soph and I got home from Italy (over 2 years ago!) I slacked on going to things. It didn't help that Sophie got married, lots of other people got married, lots of my friends were kicked out of the ward due to boundaries, Kristy started dating Ben and didn't want to go to things anymore, etc. I would call it 'activity inactive'. I still went to church every week. But FHE, ward prayer, ward activities...I was not there.

I realized I was not enjoying the ward. At all. I also realized that this was my own fault. Luckily for me KaDee graduated and moved home. After some serious thought she joined my ward. I decided that this was the perfect opportunity for me to start getting involved again. I started going to things. Slowly of course. Ward prayer was first. That is not as big of a commitment! Then it was on to FHE. Super activity. Ward activities. Game nights. Pretty much everything now, I go to. It is nice that is not really even a decision anymore. It is just a habit. I just go.

Through this I have made lots of new friends. The ward group is not the same as it used to be. It has changed a lot. It is still a little sad to me sometimes but it's okay. Lots of changes have happened the past year or so in the ward. But change is good. The bishopric changed a few weeks ago too which was hard for me, for a minute. I now am loving the new bishopric. They are awesome! I am excited to get to know them more and build the same relationships that I had with the old bishopric.

Change is hard. But change can open up a whole bunch of new opportunities. I am excited for changes that lie ahead. Change is hard for me, but I am going to just go through it and make the best of it. It is much easier to just sit in your comfort zone and let the world change around you, but change can be the best thing in the world. Things are what you make them to be. It is all about your attitude.

Change is good. Embrace it!

{the temple}

My family all went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house Saturday night. It was amazing! I could not believe how beautiful the interior was. One of my teachers did the interior design and said it was going to be one of the best ever! I figured he was just saying that because he did it. Well, I have not seen the whole interior of too many temples but this was truly incredible. The detail and the pattern and the texture there was beautifully done. I am so glad we all had the opportunity to go. If you have not gone yet you should really consider it!

Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July!!!
I know the 4th is an American holiday, but nothing compares to a firework show in Italy. Trust me. I kind of wish I was there. Right now.

kudos

To teachers.

I went to Kristy's class on Tuesday.
It was hilarious!
These kids are so fun!
They are a handful though!
I am not sure how teachers do it.
They LOVE Kristy!
She is a great teacher!
Thanks for letting me spend the day!

{He would be my favorite if this was my class...}

{how many teachers sing and dance to Love Story with the kids?}

{especially in her dress and tennies?}

{these girls were so darling! sassy little fourth graders!}

Spandex Game

Also known as the human slingshot.

I love this game!
I still need to make my won.

For FHE Monday we played water balloon volleyball.
Mandy of course also brought her spandex game.
Good times!
It was especially great when Brother Winegar joined us!

No one got hurt...too bad!

{this was the dream team here. me, mandy, clark and lincoln}
