One of my favorite people is having a baby!
Sophie is having a baby boy
named Max
due February 10th.

We went yesterday to the Dodo for lunch to celebrate!
Soph looks so cute!
I am so excited to meet Max.
I hope he has lots of red curly hair!

I really love Ingrid Michaelson these days.
She is awesome.
Some may not love her voice,
but that is what I love about her songs.

This is for sure going on my Valentine's mix this year.

Winter Blues

I have never been to Sundance Film Festival in Park City so I thought it would be a fun thing to do.

I am sick of having nothing to do because of the weather. All I feel like my weekends consist of lately is movies, movie at someones house or a movie at the theater.

Winter can get pretty boring.

So when there was actually something going on in these parts of town I thought it would be fun to take advantage of what it had to offer. I got a bunch of people together and we were going to head up to Park City. Walk around the old town, eat dinner somewhere, get Robert Redford's signature, you know the usual Sundance events.

When the storm Friday night headed in we {not me, I still would have gone} decided it might be safest to not go in the snow. I am sure the canyon was bad but it didn't seem too bad here.

To make a long story short, we ended up going bowling at Fat Cats. It turned out to be a pretty fun night. I didn't get a lot of pictures, just ones of us girls messing around at the arcade while the boys waited in line.

Is it summer yet?!

I am ready for picnics, bonfires, sand volleyball and of course a little human spandex game.

Jared wanted to make a Denny's run after institute.
We got a bunch of people together and
somehow we ended up at Village Inn...
Gross, but I was there for the company
not the food.
The hot chocolate was not bad though.
Either way it was a good time!

{White Chocolate Cherry Dream...did NOT look like the picture!}

{not sure what that even is they are eating?}

{JB Squared. We are going to start a business}

{Utah Temples} Bountiful

{Bountiful Temple 1.15.10}

My ward has a goal of attending every temple in Utah this year.
I am excited to do this since I have only been to Bountiful and Salt Lake.
We started last Friday night at the Bountiful Temple.
I really love ward temple night for some reason.
It is just amazing to me to see how many people support it and attend the temple together.
It was Friday night and we had about 50 people there.
It was a great way to spend a Friday night!

i've been waiting for a good day...

No step, combat or weights class will prepare me for Moab in March.
Nor can I put in too many miles at the gym.
So what am I to do?!

I tried half treadmill half track the other day.
It was not my favorite.

Between being sick
and the nasty air
I will admit,
this was my first attempt at a long run this year.

Let's just pray a storm comes
and clears out the air soon.

Or I will NOT be ready March 20th!

And trust me,
I have done a half or two unprepared...
It was not good.

So when my cold is finally all gone
and the air is clear once again.
I look forward to hitting the pavement.
The treadmill just does not do it for me.

one down

One week of a new semester is behind me.
No tears yet.
Weird, I know.
{probably because I left me CAD class early Wednesday night}

I think it is going to be a good semester.

This semester I will be making my final portfolio.
That is going to be the biggest stress.
For some reason I am not feeling too overwhelmed.

I know it will come,
but I am glad it has not yet.

I have some great teachers this semester.
I am excited to learn from them.

I am excited to see what these next few months have in store!

Wish me luck!

K+B Wedding Day: Reception

The reception was also at the Grand Ballroom.
Amy Pilkington and crew did the food.
It was awesome!
They all worked so hard to make it just perfect.

The night was fun!

I was worried I would be bored,
but lots of people came.
Lots of friends,
old friends,
family from out of town,
13th ward people,
11th ward people,
old ward people...

Between the Hodgkinsons and Botts I think all of Bountiful and surrounding cities were invited.

It was a good time!

Perfect ending to a perfect day!

K+B Wedding Day: Temple

K+B got married in the Bountiful Temple.
October 10, 2009

It was perfect.
I am so thankful that I got to be in the temple with them.

I was Kristy's escort
{funny since I just went through a couple of weeks before}
But I would not have had it any other way.
It was such an amazing experience being there with her.
We shared some smiles, some tears and some laughs.

The ceremony was beautiful.
Ben's grandpa sealed them.
I cried.
A lot.
{happy tears of course}
Mom was there.
I know it.

Then we got K ready and in her dress and then finally outside for pictures.

still to come...reception

K+B Wedding Day: Breakfast

I cannot believe it has been three months since Kristy and Ben got married.
Time flies!
Here are some thoughts and shots of the day.

The breakfast was at the Grand Ballroom
it was real breakfast food.
It was fun
and delicious.

Dad and I were driving there and I cried the whole way.
I don't know why.
It was such a happy day,
but lots of emotions.

Jason said at the breakfast that this day was going to be an emotional roller coaster.
It was.

Laughing one minute, crying the next.

We were all so happy!

But I think I was a little sad that my sister was leaving me.
I was a lot sad that my mom was not there to share this with us.
To see how beautiful Kristy was.
And how happy Ben made her.

The breakfast was perfect...

still to come...temple and reception

We went to celebrate at California Pizza Kitchen.
It was a fun night!
Happy Birthday KaDee!

I may be shunned for this...

But really?!

Not the biggest fan of this movie.
Actually, not a fan at all.

I had not fully intended on even seeing it.
Sci-fi is NOT my thing!
I had the chance the day it came out, but I had to work.
Then when the chance came up again,
I took it.

I think it's weird.
I think it's long.
{even though it did go by faster than most 3 hour movies}
I think it made me nauseous.
{that is mainly due to seeing it in 3D}

You know, people love this movie. I do not. But who am I to say? I can see how it is a well made, super cool, blows your mind theatrical experience...but that doesn't do it for me.

It's funny, my friend kept saying it reminded him of Dances with Wolves, just sci-fied up. Then Sunday my brother said the same thing. Weird.

I know people who love it. So if blue monster, sci-fi, made up Avatar language stuff makes you happy than go see it!

Once was enough for me!

I think I was more entertained after the movie...let's just say leopard print snuggies are more exciting...

Princess and the Frog

On New Year's Eve day we went to see
The Princess and the Frog.

Fourteen of us.
Nine of which were kids.

It was so much fun!

I really liked the movie.

I think Tiana is darling.
The music is great.
The voices were fun.
It has everything needed.

I do not think it is going to be a classic like they say.
After all, it is no Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.
But it is a lot better than some of the other recent Disney films.

I would suggest seeing it.
It is really cute!

I cannot believe I had never been before.
The closest I came was once in Bari, Italy.
Now there is one in Draper, Utah
and I still hadn't gone.

Until now.

I knew I wanted something.
And I knew IKEA had it.

So, KaDee and I headed out.

I love it!

A little over stimulating at first,
but then you get used to that.

I will for sure be going back.

Lawson's Blessing

Yesterday was Lawson's baby blessing.

Jason gave him a beautiful blessing.
Meridith made a delicious breakfast for after.

It was a fun day spent with the family.

Although I did go to my ward for Relief Society,
it is always nice to have a break from early meetings.
{even though I did feel a little left out!}
