i knew this would happen...

Somehow, all semester long I have had this attitude that things will just work themselves out.
It's really been a good thing for me.
I have not cried once all semester.
{Over school that is}
Anyway,
I still hope that is true.
But yesterday in my portfolio class we were going over our schedule.
I realized that Monday is March first.
Which means,
April is right around the corner.
Let's just say,
the stress hit!
I went home last night around 10 and pulled out all my boards.
{maybe for the first time}
It is time to start the work.
I only have about two weeks before they need to be ALL ready!
Then I have to get pictures taken of them all.
Pictures of me.
Then I have to make my portfolio.
And make a business card.
And make a display.
A resume.
A cover letter.
Handouts.
And the list goes on...
All in between
classes
work
Relief Society
meetings
and still trying to have a life
All I have to say is I am glad it is Friday.
It has been a long, rough week.

Thanks JB!

Last night at institute I was looking at my friends notebook.
I saw that he had taken notes on the previously mentioned fireside.

I asked him if he got the 'why worry' quote.

Sure enough he did.
Part of it anyway.
But enough.
He at least knew who it was given by.

Luckily he also has an i.phone so then proceeded to look for it on lds.org.
Then even better, he emailed it right to me.

{All during institute mind you...we are both a little irreverent}

"Why worry about future calamities or uncertainties over which you have no control? Your righteous character magnifies the probability that you will never have to suffer them. When challenges and testing do come, your faith will lead you to solutions. Your peace of mind, your assurance of answers to vexing problems, your ultimate joy depend upon your trust in Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Right will ultimately prevail. It will yield blessings now as you in faith obey the commandments of God. Remember an unfailing, continual, ever-present source of peace and comfort is available to you. It is the certainty that your Father in Heaven loves you no matter what your circumstance, no matter what winds of trial, turmoil, or tribulation whirl about you. That certainty will never change. Your ability to access that support depends on the strength of your faith in Him and in His certain willingness to bless you." -Richard G. Scott

Thanks Jared!

why worry?

Last night John Schmidt did a fireside for my ward.
His cute wife spoke.
He played.
And he talked for a few minutes.

He read a quote that started by saying...

Why worry?

I cannot remember what else it said.
I wish I could.

But it was great.

I got to thinking about that today.

Why worry?

Everything will work out.
Everything.

I was talking with a lady at work today about things.
Life, boys, church, everything.

We talked about how no matter what,
there is a plan.

Sure, we have agency to choose.
But there is something planned.

I am thankful to know this.
It is always good to talk about it and refresh my mind.
And my heart.

Things happen.
Things don't happen.
People come into our lives.
And people leave our lives.
Jobs come up.
School works out.
Callings change our lives.
People change our lives.

Everything happens for a reason.

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us."
{Helen Keller}

Why worry?

Move forward and look at the next open door.
The opened doors are far better than the closed ones.

Trust me.

It takes time to realize it.
But it's true.

I don't know what tomorrow holds.
Or next week.
Or five years from now...

But I am going to try and not worry.

There is a purpose for things.
There is a reason things are the way they are.

And I am thankful for that.

I am excited to see what the future holds for me...

glitter toes

I did it again.
I swore last time that I wouldn't.
But I did.

I know in 6 weeks when I try to get it off I will be mad.
But for now I am loving my ruby red glitter toes.

Double-McTwist-1260

"It's impossible to beat Shaun unless he falls."
said silver medalist Peetu Piioroinen of Finland
Stayed up way too late last night watching this.
If I were to participate in an Olympic event,
it would be the half pipe.
I love it!
Shaun White is amazing!
Back to back gold medals.
Awesome!

I especially love how the US teams snow pants look just like jeans.
A few times I thought they were.
After some convincing...
I believe they are not.

St. Valentine

Oh Valentine's Day...

I had a good weekend.
Full of things.
I feel like I am always super busy these days.

friday...

work
olympics
dinner
mall
movie

We saw Valentine's Day of course. I actually liked it. It was no life changing movie, but it was cute. It was funny. And for the most part it was clean. {for the most part} I mostly loved that the flower shop was called Siena Bouquet.

saturday...
sugar cookies
lunch with KaDee
Park City with Rebecca
Late night chat with a friend
sunday...
got dinner ready
meetings
church
family
ward prayer
I don't love Valentine's Day, but I don't hate it. To me it's just another day really. It was just nice to have President's Day follow it. Who doesn't love a three day weekend?!

Dear Lizzie

There is a little store in Alpine called Dear Lizzie.
I love it there!
Good thing it is far away
so I can't go very often.
I have been wanting to go for awhile now but never have had time.
Kristy and I looked at our schedules and tried to find a Saturday we could go down.
It looked like there was not going to be a day for awhile.
Then we thought about President's Day...
Perfect!
We went down,
had lunch,
shopped around,
chatted,
laughed.
It was a fun little outing!

mr. 13th ward

Last Monday for FHE we had a Mr. 13th Ward Pageant.
It was funny.
It was a little awkward.
It was entertaining.
It was a good time!

I think there is really no way to express in words all that this night had to offer.
Hopefully these photos can say enough...
And the winner of the 2010 Mr. 13th ward is...

Seth Ferguson

Congrats Seth!

K+B are having a baby!
Due September 15th.
{yep, 11 months after the wedding!}
I couldn't be more thrilled!
Congrats you guys!
Can't wait to meet him...or her.

dear john

Go see it.
You won't be sorry.

I promise.

It's got it all.

Cute girl.
Really cute boy.
Romance.
Action.
Funny parts.
Heartwarming parts.
Sad parts.
Tear jerker parts.

I think the thing I like the most is that it is so unpredictable.
There are times you seriously do not see things coming.
Really.

just a city girl

I don't know what it is.
But I love big cities.

I started a new job last week.
Downtown.

I love being downtown.
It fits me.

There is so much to do.
So many cute little places to visit.

I can't wait for summer
when there is more to do outside.

If anyone works in Salt Lake,
let's do lunch!

love

Today I taught Relief Society.
I taught on love.
Not boy girl love.
But love nonetheless.

I think it went well.

Let's just say this...
I love when it is over!

church ball

66-32

for the other team...

Wednesday night my ward played the 32nd ward, their rival, in ward basketball. So of course I went to support the boys.

I am sorry to say that this was one of the funniest things I had seen in a long time! It was so fun!

We lost. But at least I have friends on the 32nd ward team too so I was fine with it! Tyler even yelled at me once for cheering on the other team. Sorry Ty! Gotta support the JB Squared!

Win or lose, it was fun! Good job team!

listening to the rules before the game

Me and Rebecca. I brought cookies for the boys. Too bad all the fans ate them before the game was even over.

action shot

go Brett!

Me and Jared after his team won the game.
And yes, his sweaty head touched mine.

When in Rome

Maybe it's him.
Maybe it's that this movie takes place in my two favorite places.
{Italy and New York}
Maybe it's that dress she has on.
Maybe it's cause it is laugh out loud funny.

I am not sure what it is,
but I love this movie!

Brighton

We had a ward ski night last Friday night.
I don't ski.
Or snowboard.
But we had the lodge rented out for those like myself to just play games and hang out.
It was a pretty fun night!

I decided once I am done with school I am going to try snowboarding again and actually get good at it this time.
I know I would like it,
I just need to give it more time.
