peace out

Sometimes you just need to get away.
Sometimes you just need a vacation.
Today I am headed to St. George and Las Vegas for the weekend.
Today is one of those times I just need to get away!
So, peace out friends.
I am headed to see mr. sun.
I have missed him.

{I will also make a visit here. I am super excited about that.}

{spend some time here}

{and stay here}

See ya soon...maybe.
I may or may not come back.

weekend whirlwind

Weekends go by way to fast these days.
Before I know it I am going to be back in school.
But, that's life.

This weekend was jam packed with good things.

Friday...

I went to a ward activity.
It was a mini Amazing Race.
It was pretty fun.

Then I watched some of the Jazz game.

Saturday...

We had the adult session of Stake Conference in the a.m.
Then a bunch of us went to breakfast.
The Stake does pancakes after
but something about mass quantities of pancakes is weird to me.

We went to the Blue Plate Diner instead.

After breakfast I did my usual Saturday stuff.
Then I got ready and went to a wedding shower
for my friend Emilie.
It was fun to see her!
Her wedding is this weekend when I am in St. George.

After the shower Jared and I went to dinner with KaDee and Riley.

We went to Arella.

Then we stopped by a birthday party for a bit.
Then watched Sherlock Holmes.
I mostly slept though.

Sunday...

We had Stake Conference.
It was nice to have no meetings.
I even got to drive with KaDee.
That doesn't happen much anymore.
Conference was good.

Then Mikey and I visit taught.

I came home after and had all afternoon to just do nothing.
I read.
Tried to nap. {but dad got home so the house was no longer quiet}
Got dinner ready.
Had visiting teachers.

Then everyone came over for dinner.

After dinner I went to Max's baby blessing.

Max is such a little cutie!
Soph and Isaac just love that little guy.
It was a wonderful blessing.

After the blessing I went to a fireside and then a meeting.

It was a busy but great weekend!

Happy Monday!

adult for a day

Wednesday I had the opportunity to volunteer at Cullen's field trip.

We went to the Junior Achievement Biz Town
at the Discovery Gateway.

Seriously, it was so neat!
I wish they had this when I was in fifth grade.

It was an entire mini city.
Stores, restaurants, car dealerships, RC Willey, you name it, it was there.

The kids learn about real life and working for about five weeks at school before coming here.
Then the day they come they all have a job.
They interview earlier at school for their positions.

Then, they just run the city all day.
They use cash and checkbooks and debit cards to learn how.

I really thought this was a great thing for kids to be able to do when they are young.
It's never too early!

Thanks Cullen for letting me join you!

Not only was he an adult for the day,
but I felt like I was too, it was fun playing mom for the day!

{Thanks C for inviting me to come!}

After Biz Town I stopped by and took some Jambas to some thirsty accountants...

Then I spent the evening here
for Stake Temple night.
It was wonderful.
It was a lovely day.

Graduation?

I graduated last Thursday!
Exciting, right?!

It was everything a college graduation should be.
Exciting. Fun. Hot. A little too long.

The best part about it is...
I am really not done until December.

Miles, the director of the Interior Design program thinks it is so important to walk.
So even though I am not done done for eight more months,
I did it.

I am glad I walked.
It was a good experience.
One that will only come once in my lifetime.

Since I go to a church school we were privileged enough to have our graduation at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square.

It was pretty awesome.

Kristy and Dad came to support.
Thanks a bunch!!!

{Kristy did a great job of playing photographer for the day}

{I don't know who is happier I am almost done, me or Dad}

It's been a fun ride!
I am excited to be done soon.
The light is at the end of the tunnel!
Thanks to everyone I have met along the way.
I have made some great friends!
Love you guys!
And thanks to Miles.
He is an incredible man and teacher.
And even more thanks to my Dad.
Without him, this would not be possible.
Although I have a few more classes I am glad I am an official grad!

master your fears

"With any major decision there are cautions and considerations to make, but once there has been illumination, beware the temptation to retreat from a good thing. If it was right when you prayed about it and trusted it and lived for it, it is right now. Don't give up when the pressure mounts. Certainly don't give into that being who is bent on the destruction of your happiness. Face your doubts. Master your fears. Stay the course and see the beauty of life unfold for you."

{Utah Temples} Oquirrh Mountain

I am going to be out of town when my ward goes to the Oquirrh Mountain temple so I went there today.
It is so beautiful, inside and out.
I was able to go to the open house last summer so I already knew how amazing it is.
It was a beautiful day to visit a beautiful temple.

all but done

Last night was my portfolio event for school.
I am officially done with the semester.
All but one more class on Wednesday.
We are just having a party though so it doesn't really count!
Funny that I did it now since I am not done yet.
It was now or next April so I thought now was the better choice.
Wednesday night I got it all ready
{with a little help from Amy}
and did a mock set up at home.

Yesterday they were judged.
Then we had friends and family viewing from five until seven.
It was so fun to see every ones stuff.
Some of these people are amazing!
So good at what they do.

Overall the night was a success!
So happy to have it over with.
I feel like I can be a normal person again.
Thanks to everyone who came to support me.
It meant a lot to me.
I am so lucky to have met and associated with so many great people in this program.
And even though I am not done until December, a lot of my friends are, and I am going to miss them!
It's been fun everyone!
Good luck!
