Brad Paisley

Last Friday night my fam went to
the Brad Paisley concert.

Brad is amazing!
He seems like a really cool, down to earth guy.

And boy can he sing!
And rock those guitars.

It was awesome!

Highlights of the night:

- Ammon always finding the craziest people to become friends with. His lady friends were hilarious!
- Cullen and Landon joined us. Landon took a little nap in the middle but other than that I think they both enjoyed it.
- Darius Rucker singing good old Hootie and the Blowfish songs. I think he sang more of those than country songs.
- Brads many guitars. I love to see all the different ones he uses. I especially loved the glittery blue one.
- When brad came out and sang in the middle of the audience. We were really close to him!
- When Alison Krauss came out and sang Whiskey Lullaby with Brad. I like to think it was really her. Too bad it was just somehow an electronic version of her. But it looked so real! And sounded so good!
- When he sang Waiting on a Woman...He does this SO good live!

five

I wish you could have been there
for the sun & the rain & the long, hard hills.
For the sound of a thousand conversations
scattered along the road.
For the people laughing & crying & remembering
at the end.
But, mainly,
I wish you could have been there.
-Brian Andreas

Five years ago today
my life changed.
My mommy lost her fight to breast cancer.
And my life will never be the same again.
It seems like yesterday.
And at the same time,
feels like it's been forever.
It feels like so much has happened
in the past five years.
So many things
that I have wish my mom could have been here for.
Weddings.
Babies.
Callings.
School.
Graduation.
Boys.
Trips.
Friends.
Sicknesses.
Tears.
Joys.
Laughs.
Not a single day will ever go by
that I don't miss her.
And wish that she was here.
I can't wait to be with her again one day.
I will do everything I can
to make it into her arms again.
Because for the past five years,
all I have wanted
is for her to wrap her arms around me
and to tell me everything will be okay.
Yes, I wish she could have been here
for all the things that have happened
these past five years.
Bust mostly.
I just wish she could just be here.

{Utah Temples} Ogden

I went to the Ogden Temple last week
with Vicki.

It was lovely.
So nice to sit and talk with Vicki.
She is such an amazing woman.
I love her.
And I look up to her a ton.

Thanks for joining me Vicki!
We will have to do it again soon!

ratatouille

I once talked to a friend about making ratatouille.

Neither of us had ever made it.
We were going to make it and watch the movie.
We never did this.

Recently,
my dad's friend gave me a recipe for ratatouille
in a crock pot.

I made it.
And it was delicious!

I have to do this

In 2010,
over 200,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be found in women.
Tragically, it will claim the lives of nearly 40,000 women,
leaving behind grieving families and young children.
While great strides have been made in breast cancer awareness,
research, and treatment, much remains to be done.
Education and research will forever continue.
October 16, 2010.
What better way to support the cause.
And how fitting it is in October.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Crazy,
I know.
But when I heard about this race,
I knew I have to do this.

Cabination #2

Continuing making this past weekend a great one...
Saturday after the game we went to Park City

to do a little shopping.
We shopped.

Ate at Redrock.
Then went to Eric's work's cabin.
It was beautiful!
We just watched a movie.

A stupid movie,
so Jared and I went outside for most of it.
I saw the best shooting star I have ever seen!
It was a beautiful night!

last thoughts

Yesterday was my last first day of school.
Crazy!
Not sure what the future holds,

but I am excited and anxious to see.
{stolen from my amazingly talented friend Kirsten}
I love seeing this everyday on my way to work.
Or seeing it outside the window in between classes.
Why did the teacher at the cycle class I did this morning say..."Today I am going to play with your hearts"

Does she not know I cannot handle anymore of that?!

When can I see this face again? I miss it!

Spend way too much time on here. Maybe time to close it...

Utah State Fair

Since this past weekend was my last weekend before school started,
I wanted to make it a good one.
And a good one it was!

Friday night a bunch of us went to the
Utah State Fair.

It was a good time!
I had not been in a couple of years so it was time.

Parking is horrible.
Luckily this nice little family about two blocks form the fair grounds let us park in their driveway.
Only five bucks!
A little sketchy,
but the cars were both still there when we returned.
So totally worth it.

As soon as we walked in,
Jen, Liz and I decided to try and get into
Boys II Men.

Success!

Being at a Boys II Men concert took me right back to 6th grade at Classic Skating.
Good times!

Glad we got in!

Then we checked out some animals.

Jared won this HUGE dog.

So, there you have it.
My trip to the Utah State Fair.
Nothing says fall like the State Fair!

New Cabin

Over twenty years now we have had a cabin
in Star Valley Wyoming.

A few years ago dad started talking about selling it
and building a new one.

Everyone loved this idea.
Everyone but me.

I was sad.

I did not want to leave the memories of the cabin.
All the good times we had there.
The laughs, the tears, the fun.

A couple years after that
dad took us all to a new lot one day
on our way to the Cottonwood Lake.

He said,
this is where we will build a new cabin.
A new cabin with new memories.

By this time I was a little happier about it.
We had outgrown the cabin.

A family of seven
has turned into twenty
and just keeps getting bigger.

I was happy about it.

Memories are just that.
Memories.
And they will stay with us
even in a new cabin.

So, July 2009 the new cabin began.

Estimated finish date,
Memorial Day 2010.

Needless to say,
we just went to the new cabin,
my first time staying there,
Labor Day 2010
and it is not done.

It is almost done on the inside.
Enough to stay there.
I got my room all set up.
Mostly everything is set up.

The outside...
not even close!

Anyway,
I must say,
it is super nice!
I honestly could not believe it!

I am excited to make new memories here.
{if it ever is actually finished!}

Here are some favorites of the weekend.
First of many at the new Bott Family Cabin
in Fairview Wyoming.
