the tom

One time I said...
Toms are two things,
useless and trendy.

I would never own a pair.

When I was in San Fran I actually tried some on.
Hey - I liked the sparkly ones.

After Kristy bought her brown ones,
I still had some on my feet.
But,
I couldn't do it.

I don't love trendy things.

This weekend we went to the cabin.
There is a little store in Jackson that I love.
I walked in
and they had a basket full of Toms
marked half off!

I tried on a teal blue pair.
But I couldn't do it.
I could not buy Toms.

I asked the girl what other colors they had in my size.
When she told me gold
I tried them on.

Then I came home with a pair of Toms.
Something I thought I would never buy.

But gold, and half price.
I couldn't pass them by!

see you later

{don't mind the horrible picture}

My cousin Vicki is  moving to Ohio next week!
I am so sad to see her go.
She is one of the greatest women I know.

We decided to get all the Bott girls together for one last time.
{as many as we could anyway}
This was a see you later event, not a goodbye.

We went to dinner and just talked the night away.
It was lovely.

Good luck in Ohio Vicki!
Love you!
See you soon!

ruby

Not sure what has taken so long for me to post about this little gem.
It's sort of an obsession.
I blame it on work.
We frequent this little shop more often than we should.

Keith even brought us a dozen of these to celebrate after the
Station Park grand opening.

Anyway.
Let me introduce you to a favorite local cookie shop of mine.
Ruby Snap.

They have the most delicious,
creative,
unique
cookies ever.

And better yet,
they have a new one every month.
It is available for a month and then gone.
Unless you are lucky and they make it randomly.

This is Zoey. Yummy orange blueberry. Kind of like a muffin.

This may be my favorite. This is Scarlett. Red velvet with cream cheese frosting. This is one of those special monthly ones. Usually in February. Sometimes, when it rains for a long time in May, they will have it. Just to cure your rainy day blues. Then you must go in and get one. And guess what? It really does cure those rainy day blues.

This is Penelope. Peanut butter cookie half dipped in chocolate. Need I say more?!

Meet Margo. Chocolate cinnamon dough with a chocolate mint center. Divine. Really.

This is Lucy. She was around for March. Lime curd and cream cheese. Sounds weird, but tastes delicious!

This is Evia. Th current cookie of the month. Good mix of flavors. I still am not 100% sure how well the mixed. But I love pine nuts, so it's pretty good. Try it before it's gone!

And they have lots more to choose from.

The best thing about Ruby Snap is that you can go and taste them before you buy them. It always helps to know what you are paying money for. Then they wrap them up in these adorable little boxes and bows. So pretty you almost don't even want to eat them. Almost.

I am planning on having these as wedding favors at my wedding one day. I want the scarlet, made brown instead of red, with light purple frosting. In the adorable little boxes. So fun!

new music

I just downloaded some new music.
More than I should have.
Darn Pandora!

Lifehouse.
Loving this new CD. It's not that new, but I just didn't want to download it. After hearing Falling In, I knew it was a must have.

Mat Kearney.
Still waiting on his new album. This one single will have to do. He is one of my favorites.

He is We.
New find from my satellite radio and Pandora. Seriously. May change your life.

Thompson Square.
I only got the kiss me or not song. I love it! A summer must have.

I made a spring fever play list.
It brightens the day!
Now if spring would just come...

BHLDN...again

The Anthro wedding line was super popular for a minute.
But then I think everyone forgot how fabulous it is.

I was browsing it again and found a new little gem.
I have posted the top picture before.
But that second one is new
and it is nothing but...
AMAZING.

And now they have decorations too.
And I love them.

That's all.

Happy Friday!

girls weekend

While this little cuties daddy was out of town for the weekend
we got to spend some good quality time together.

Her mommy came along too!

We did everything from shopping, crafting, eating, toe nail painting and more.

It was so much fun!

Thanks Kristy and Eliza for a great weekend!

tie dye

I went to the Led Zeppelin laser show this weekend
at the Clark Planetarium.

Now I want to tie dye.

Weird.

relax and let it happen

Last night I had a long talk with my friend Eric.
We talked about pretty much everything...
life in general, dating, marriage, our ward, the temple
and the list goes on.

Now,
Eric is very wise.
Just graduated with his PHD and he is 27.
He's a pretty big deal.

We were on the subject of dating and he was reading me some quotes he had and such.
He started emailing me a bunch of them.

He sent me one from Elder Oaks.
It's a story he shares about his daughter.

I love it.

There’s an experience that our youngest daughter, Jenny, had with Marjorie Hinckley. Jenny had been married for a number of years and hadn’t been able to have any children, and she was very stressed about that. We were at a social function and took Jenny along, she saw Sister Hinckley seated at a table nearby. Feeling close to her, as she had been growing up, she just slipped over and knelt down beside Sister Hinckley’s chair, and had an informal interview. She told her what she was worried about—having children—and Sister Hinckley spoke to her.

When she came back, I said, “Jenny, what did she tell you?” And she said, “Oh Sister Hinckley just said, ‘Now Jenny, you just go home and relax and let it happen.’” I thought that was so wise, and it has something to do with people who are having a hard time finding a marriage partner. Just relax and let it happen. Be a friend, get on with your life, and don’t be stressed about it.

Well,
is that what I needed to hear or what?!

Sometimes, or all the time,
I stress out about this whole dating thing.
Not even the marriage part,
the dating alone stresses me out.

Eric later said to me,
as we were talking about a boy and what to do about it,
Eric said,
just always assume the best.

I think that if we all just did that in this whole dating game that we would all progress much quicker than we are now.

We all fear that the worst will happen.
She'll say no, he won't call again, she likes someone else, he didn't have fun...

Why not just assume the best.
She will say yes, he will call again, she likes you, he did have fun.
Assume the best until proven otherwise.

Go for it!
Give it a shot!

Nothing to lose!
There is no better way to figure things out than to just go for it.

So what if it hurts down the road.
Hearts will mend.

Take chances.
Relax and let it happen.

new ward

Last Sunday was the first Sunday
of the new YSA wards.

Maybe it's a good thing my first post about this got deleted...

All in all,
my new ward is different.
It is going to be an adjustment.

I hope with time it gets better.

Monday was our first FHE.
It was a picture scavenger hunt.
Kind of lame.
The things/places we were supposed to go were not that exciting.

Needless to say,
we made up our own.
Eric and I are determined to make this ward a good one.

Wish us luck!

Slightly enjoyed it...

neti pot

I have been a little bit sick for a few days.

I think it was the culmination of

work stress

and being outside in the cold for a couple of work things.

It all came to a close and gave me a cold.

I was talking to Meridith and she said I should try a neti pot.

She had one and let me borrow it.

This thing is amazing!

It totally clears out your sinuses.

I have used it 3 times in the past two days.

You pour saltwater in your nose and it comes out the other nostril.

{very attractive I am sure}

I have been reading some info about them

and have learned that they are very beneficial in everyday life.

I am going to buy one to use regularly.

Try one!

MS Walk

Last Saturday Harmons sponsored
the MS Walk.
Danielle and I were in charge of the food and everything for our rest stop.

I would say it was a success!
The snow was not ideal,
but people enjoyed themselves anyway.

Thanks to our awesome volunteers!

There was about 4,000 people walking for MS.
I love events like this.
Things that are for a cause are always so uplifting and enjoyable.

June is the MS Bike ride.
I have a family reunion so I can't go and I am kind of sad about that.
Next year I am there!
I may even conquer my fear of bikes and ride!

May 5th

Happy Birthday to the most amazing person I have ever known.

Thank you for always being there for me and helping me become who I am today.

Thank you for loving me no matter what.

Thank you for giving me the perfect example of what I should be one day.

Thank you for being the wife and mother that I only hope to be someday.

Thank you for teaching me about the gospel.

Thank you for everything you did in our almost 21 years together.

But most of all,
thank you for being my mom.

Happy Birthday!

it was grand

Monday was our grand opening of the
Station Park Harmons.

And I tell you what,
it was grand!

I had no idea what to expect when I pulled in at 5am.
There was already about 200 people there.

Craziness!

After all, I think it turned out great.
Most things went really well.
Only a few minor hiccups.

It was a new, crazy, busy, tiring day.
But it was fun all at the same time.

I think the people of Davis County are really going to enjoy the store.
It is beautiful.
Weird to say about a grocery store,
but it really is.

Go check it out!

200 North Station Parkway
in Farmington

And have a gelato while you are there.
Only $1.25 this week!

Jared and Justin came by on their way to work so I took them in for a sneak peak. And of course they came back for some lunch later on.

The Harmons sure know how to entertain the crowds.

Me, Marjorie our intern from Taiwan and Danielle.

Feeding the hungry people some breakfast pizza.

After 12 hours of craziness, we finally headed home.

I think we can all say it was a pretty great start to a new store.

{And then yesterday, we celebrated with some Ruby Snap cookies}

Kristy's Day of Birth

Kristy had a birthday!

We celebrated Saturday night
at PF Changs.

We had delicious food
and a great time!

We did a little hot tubing after.
It was a good night.

It had been awhile since this crew hung out.
It was just as fun as ever!

Happy Birthday Kristy!!!
I am so glad we are friends!
