Happy Birthday!

To my most favorite person in the world.
I love you!

You would think the lack of posts means I have had nothing to do.
But it seems to be just the opposite.

With Christmas and wedding stuff we've been busy!

Now that Christmas has come and gone for another year
it's on to 2013.

Time flies.

Christmas was really good this year.
It just hasn't been the same for the last 8 years.
Christmas is just hard.
But this year was much better than I was expecting.
So much love and so many things and people to be thankful for.

We've had parties, lights, food, friends, family and more.
But my favorite part has been sharing it all with Ryan.
We've been busy.
And it's been hard.
But with Ryan I feel like I can do anything.
He's the best Christmas gift I could ever ask for.
Actually, he's better.

So, here's the last two weeks summed up in pictures

The Nutcracker

Ryan gave me Nutcracker tickets for my birthday.
I had told him how I went when I was little but haven't been in years.

So after having the tickets for two weeks it was finally time!

It was such a perfect night.
The Nutcracker was so fun to see.
Ryan didn't even hate it! {or so he says}
He's such a good sport.

We went to the show and then out for Thai food.
All the makings of a perfect winters night.

Thanks Ryan!
It was perfect!

{and this checked one more thing off the list}

take two

Monday night we had Derek and Michelle for dinner
and then went to Temple Square to see the lights.

It was much colder than last time but it was still fun.

I just love this time of year!

My birthday has come and gone for another year.

It’s been a crazy year…
in more ways than one.
But I can also say that it has been the best year of my life
and I look forward to the years to come.

This year my birthday was on a Sunday
So it was another weekend of celebrating.

Saturday Ryann and Rhonda took me to breakfast.
I love spending time with them.
Then Ryan and I got our engagements done.
That night we went to dinner and Temple Square with some of my friends.
A fun traditions that I love doing every year.

Sunday we just had family dinner at my dad’s.
{that’s just not the same anymore}
We ate delicious dinner my sister made,
watched the First Presidency devotional and then went home.
Ryan came and gave me my presents.
He gave me Nutcracker tickets!
I can’t wait to go in a couple weeks.

It was a great birthday!
Thanks everyone for making it a special day.

Here’s to 28
I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one!

an Arizona Thanksgiving

Ryan and I went to Arizona this year for Thanksgiving.
It was lovely!
The weather was great and we had such a good time.

Ryan flew out Monday,
I went Wednesday after work
and we drove home Sunday.

When I got there we went straight to the Botanical Gardens.
It was warm and sunny.
That night we went to dinner at Rustler’s Rooste.
It was fun and had a slide inside!

Thursday was Thanksgiving.
I went for a run.
Then we just hung out at the house all day.
It was so nice!
Ryan’s mom did the entire dinner
and it was delicious!
So much to be thankful for.

Friday Ryan and I went for a bike ride on the tandem.
That was exciting!
I didn't get any pictures; I’ll have to get some form Ryan’s mom.
Then we got ready and went to see the Phoenix Temple.
Later we went and did a little shopping
and went to dinner at the Organ Stop.
A restaurant with this huge fancy organ.
The guy just played all night.
Kind of funny!
Then we went to the Mesa Temple to see the Christmas lights.
It was beautiful!
And seeing Christmas lights in flip flops was a whole new way to go!

Saturday was lazy day.
It was our last day of vacation so we took advantage.
We made gingerbread houses and eventually made it to the pool.
It was such a nice day.

Sunday we woke up, packed up and headed for home.
12 hour drive.
Something I had never done before.
It went great though!
It was a long day but it didn't drag too much.
We stopped a few times for gas,
stopped at Glen Dam
and stopped for dinner.
We had a good time
and made it home safely around 8 that night.

Thanks to the Sorensen’s
for letting us stay and for taking such good care of us!
It was so fun hanging out with them and getting to know them more.
We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come again!
