five months

Time flies.
Sometimes too fast.
I can't believe it's been five months since our wedding day.
I never really knew what it was like to love someone more and more
every single day
until I met Ryan.

summer nights

boating
Grand America
sno cones
concerts
Arts Festival
chalk art
swimming

It's been a great summer so far!
There's so much to do.

July is going to be even busier.
I love summer with Ryan.
And this year is even better because we are out of the newly dating stage.
Newly married is way better!

Happy summer!

random single thoughts

Last night we went to the temple.
I love being in the temple with Ryan.
I always think about how lucky I am
to be where I am in my life.
And to have Ryan by my side.
Forever.

It was our singles stake temple night last night.
I was glad to be there with Ryan.
Married.
And not just there to scope out who’s who at stake temple night.
I still have weird feelings about a special temple session for the singles...

Last week I just kept feeling overwhelming gratitude for Ryan.
One night I told him how I don’t remember my life without him.
Not that it was bad.
It was pretty great really.
But life with Ryan is even better.
It’s so comfortable and normal
that I can’t believe it’s only been a little over a year since we met.
I never thought I would be 110% comfortable with someone.

Saturday night we ran into a couple friends from my U singles ward days.
One of them got married a few years ago
but the other one is still single.
And older than Ryan and myself.
I had two thoughts after a quick catch up with them.

  1. I am so glad I am not there anymore
  2. I wish he and all my single friends knew how great being married is
Now, I had some good times in my single life.
And made a lot of great friends.
I did things I am so thankful I got to do.
Which I think has made me even more thankful for where I am now.

Don’t get me wrong.
I know a lot of people want to be married.
And long for that day to come.
Trust me.
I was there.
I didn’t get married at 18.
I know how hard it can be to long so badly for a family
and not be able to do one thing about it.

But I also believe there are people who just would rather live the single life.
And those are the people I am sad for.
I hope that one day they realize how great it can be.
There should be less and less singles wards
instead of more and more.

I don’t have all the answers.
In fact I have no answers.
I don’t claim to.
I just hope that someday all these single people
{mostly the male population}
figure it out and want to pursue relationships
and one day take that step forward.

Because as great as single life can be,
being married is even better.

father

Happy Father's Day
to the man who gave me everything I ever needed and more.
The man who loved me even when I didn't always deserve it.
The man that showed me what a marriage can be.
The man that would give anything to help his children.
The man that always had the highest hopes for his little girl.
The man that loves and gives like none other.
The man who shares his love of the gospel with me and anyone in his path.
The man that has so many wonderful qualities this list could go on and on.

Happy Father's Day to the best dad a girl could ask for.
I love you dad!

Happy Father's Day to a wonderful father in law.
Who raised the love of my life to be the man he is today.

And Happy Father's day to the man my children will someday call daddy.
I couldn't have asked for anyone better.
I love you!

Spanish night

Last Saturday we went to a
Spanish party at the City Creek Harmons.
Kristy and Ben joined us.

It was okay...
Not as fun as I was hoping but we had a good time anyway.

We headed home right after to work on our talks since we spoke in church Sunday.

It was a fun night!

Jersey Boys

Last night Kristy and I went to our last Broadway of the season.
Actually it was our last one for awhile.
We didn't get tickets for next year.
The shows are not worth it.
So we got Wicked tickets and called it good.

I really liked Jersey Boys.
It was so much fun!
Probably one of my top favorites.
{if only they didn't use too much bad language}

But it was a good show to end on.
The songs were fun and they all had amazing voices.
It reminded Kristy and I of growing up
because we heard and knew a lot of the songs form our parents.

It was a fun night!

drive-in

Saturday night we loaded up the love sac in Ryan's truck
and headed to the drive in.

I cannot remember the last time I went to the drive in.

It was so fun!
It was so nice just being outside relaxing.
I admit I fell asleep in the second movie,
but it was fun either way!

We're already planning on going again this summer!
