Carnival Fascination {Jacksonville}

We had been talking about going on another cruise
for our anniversary.
Of course we always are looking for deals.
When Southwest had a great flight sale
that only went through December,
we decided to go a month early and save a ton of money.

We picked a Bahamas cruise
and went on Carnival.
We had never done Carnival but gave it a try.

We left December 7th and flew to Jacksonville Florida.
We had delays and saw a fight in the Denver airport.
We finally made it to Jacksonville around 11pm.
We got our rental car, checked in at the hotel and went to find some food.
Not a lot of options at that hour and close by.
We ended up at Denny's and had quite the experience.
Everyone was so nice and the place kept getting busier and busier.
Nothing like a late night Denny's in Utah.

We went back and went to bed after a long day.

December 8th we had a whole day to spend in sunny Jacksonville.
Too bad it was terribly foggy and chilly!

We got up and ate at the hotel.
Then got ready to go.

We went to a beach in Talbot Island State Park.
It was fun to just walk the beach and look at all the shells.
We couldn't see much of the water because of the fog.
We spent a couple hours walking and driving around.
We got hungry so we went and grabbed lunch at Panera.

After that we ran to Walmart to get Ryan a sweatshirt.
We were worried this weather was going to follow us all week
and he didn't bring any kind of a jacket.

We went back to the hotel and took a nap for an hour or so.
Then we decided to find something to do downtown.

We ate at Longhorn Steakhouse which was actually really good.
There was a table next to us that were so rude and obnoxious.
Three of them sent their steaks back FOUR times!
On of their kids pulled the fire alarm TWICE.
They talked super loud.
That's not even the half of it!
Then they complained about the service and said they weren't tipping much.
Some people!
We had the same waitress so we tipped a little extra.
Too bad no amount can make up for having to serve that table!

After dinner we went to a fountain Ryan found called Friendship Fountain.
It was really pretty and fun to watch the cycle and different colors.

We went back to the hotel and called it a night.
