Yesterday I was talking to a friend who said she ran into someone she hadn't seen for awhile.
Her friend said something to the effect of
'I wish I hadn't seen you, your life is too perfect and mine is a mess'.

We got to talking about how people are always putting their best parts out in the social media world.
No one is going to blog about the fight they had with their husband the day before
or Instagram the dinner they just burned or the cupcakes they forgot to put flour in.

In the social media world,
every one's life is perfect.

in the real world,
no one's life is perfect.

Today marks six years of me doing this silly blog thing.
I don't do this for money or any real reason.
I just like to document our life.
That conversation with my friend really got me thinking.
I tried to think about the not so perfect things I have put on my blog.
I know I have put some failed recipes
and talked about some of the hard days or times I've gone through.

But for the most part,
I just put the good.

So why is it that we only want to share the good?
I don't necessarily think it's on purpose
but sharing happy and good news is always more fun than bad news.

I just hope people who read my blog and other blogs know that
no one has a perfect life.
No one.

Everyone goes through hard things.

The good news is that life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.
Plus it would be boring if everything was perfect.
We wouldn't even know how good perfect was
if we never had anything to compare it to.

everyone burns their casserole
everyone fights with their husband
everyone yells at their kids

Life can still be wonderful.

be mine

We had such a nice valentine's day.

Ryan sent me flowers to work
even though we said no gifts.
But I can't lie, I loved them!

We had fondue for dinner
and it was so yummy!
We even did chicken which I had never done before.
Then we ended the night relaxing and watching some Netflix.

It was a perfect valentine's day with my favorite valentine!

the jazz

Yesterday at work my boss said she had some tickets to the Jazz game if any of us wanted them.
I decided to take her up on that!

It was a fun night and they actually won!

chocolate: the exhibition

Last week we got to go to the preview of the new exhibit
at the Natural History Museum
Chocolate: the exhibition

Harmons is a supporting sponsor so we got invited.
It was a neat exhibit.
We also went and saw the dinosaur part which was really cool.

If you haven't been to the Natural History Museum go check it out!

We went on a cruise for our anniversary
but decided we still wanted to do something for the real day.

We started with lunch at Plates and Palates
like any good celebration would.

We headed up to Midway and went to the ice castles.
Then we went to Tarahumara for dinner.
Then we went back to see the ice castles at night.

We got super lucky with the same front row parking spot both times
and never had to wait in line.

After that we went and stayed at Woodland Farmhouse Inn in Kamas.
It was a darling bed and breakfast that I would have loved to stay at longer than one night.

We ate our wedding cake and sparkling grape juice that night.
The cake was okay, but not nearly as good as it was at the wedding!
Probably good or we would have eaten the whole thing!

Sunday morning we had breakfast and then walked around Park City.

The weather was so so beautiful!
I wish we could have stayed and enjoyed the beautiful fresh air and sunshine longer.

I am so glad we got to go on a short little getaway.

I can't believe we've been married for a year!
I can't wait for forever more!
